Nice to get your message. I think you had better fly to Chengdu first and then take a train to Lhasa becuase it is almost imposible to get a train ticket to Lhasa at Xining.Please consult:
Day01:Arrival at Chengdu by air from Shanghai, pick-up, transfer to 3 starred basis hotel .Optional Evening Activity :hotpot for dinner,Sichuan Opera over tea,Noisy Night Club, Quiet Bar or Foot Massage
Day02: Visit Panda Base and sightseeing of the great city.Train T22/23 to Lhasa at 20:30.
Day03:on the train
Day04:Cross North Tibet Altiplano and enter South Tibet River Valley. Arrival at Lhasa at 15:21 and overnight at 3- starred hotel.
Day05:Lhasa visit. Potala, Jokhang.
Day06:Lhasa visit.
Day07:Drive 280km to Gyantse via Yamdork Lake.Vsit the Chorten.Overnight at Gyantse Hotel.
Day08:Drive 120km to Shigatse via Shalu Monastery. Visit Tashilunpo Monastery and overnight At Shigatse Hotel.
Day09: Drive 300km to Tingri via Saga Monastery.Overnigt at guesthouse where there is a nice view of Mt Everest, Lhote and Chowoyo.
Day10:Drive 100km to Rongbuk Monastery and trek or take yakcart to the Camp Base Overnight at tent.
Day11:Drive 280km to Zhangmu, the border town and our Nepal agent will meet you at the Friendship Bridge.
Drive on some 126km to Kathmandu.
