Useful information
On the way from Chengdu to Yading scenic spots, there are several mountains above 4000m, at least seven you have to pass by, take care of yourself to avoid altitude sickness, more details in Travel Health.What to eat?Kangding is the capital of Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture where you can have both Chinese and Tibetan food. It is easy to find food there but restaurants are always in Tibetan style.
When you go over Xingduqiao County, you see less and less vegetable, while Zangba, butter tea, beef and mutton in Tibetan style become more and more.
In Daocheng, most restaurants offer Tibetan food. Recently, as many tourists swarm into this area, there are more choice, but still less vegetables. Food is very simple in Riwa (the scenic spots place), so it is a better choice to take your favarite snack food with you.
There is only one restaurant in Yading scenic spots, the same as in Chongu Monastery and Luorong Field.

Where to stay?Yajiang county:
Most of the road you are driving after you pass Yajiang county are over 4000m high,and the nearest county ahead from Yajiang still takes a long ride ,so we suggest that you stay at Yajuang overnight if you arrived here later than 2 oˇ®clock in the afternoon. Yajiang hotel (2-star hotel standard) is strongly recommended ,with the prices between 200 and 400 Yuan per double room, the others are all small inns and rest houses with bad sanitation.
Litang county:
Quite a few hotels here comfort you, among which the Plateau Pearl Hotel is the best with 3-star standard. Litang county has a high attitude, visitors always feel altitude sick. So, we suggest that you not stay here overnight.
Daocheng County:
There are several hotels and rest houses and inns here,it is easy for tourists to settle down.The prices of the rooms here cost you from 40 Yuan to several hundred Yuan.
