Day1: Arrival in Lhasa, either by air or by train Transfer to hotel(3-star and room-shared basis) Day2:Lhasa Sightseeing Potala, religio-political center of Old Tibet; Jokhang, final destination of all sects; and Norbulinkha, Dalai Lama¡¯s summer palace. Day3:Lhasa - Xigatse 400km ride to Xigatze(3800m), the capital of Rear Tibet, via Yamzho Yun Tso, the sacred lake,Gyantse( 3900m), the typical Tibetan town. Visits to Pelkor Chode(built in 1418) & Shalu(built in 998). Check-in at Shenghu Hotel or alike. Day4: Shigatse - Tingri Visit to Tashilhumpo, Panchan Lama¡¯s seat. 260km ride to Tingri(4500m), where a nice view of Mt Cho Oyu(8150m), Everest(8848m) and Lhotse(8516m) is beheld. Guesthouse. Day5: Tingri - Rongbuk 100km ride to Rongbuk(built in 1899, 4980m high). 9km yakcart ride by to Base Camp (5200m). Guesthouse. Day6: Rongbuk - Sakya 160km ride to Sakya, (built in 1073, 4200m high), the premier monastery of Grey Sect or Sakya in Tibetan. Guesthouse. Day7: Sakya - Lhasa 450km ride to Lhasa( 3700m). Jinsheng Hotel or alike Day8: Lhasa sightseeing Visit to Drepung(built in 1416, the largest of all) & Sera(built in 1419), both subject to Gelik Day9: Lhasa - Reting 60km ride to Ganden (built in1409,3800m high), the premier monastery of Yellow Sect or Geluk in Tibetan. Ride-on 65km to Reting (built in 1056) Guesthouse. Day10: Reting - Trupu 65km ride to Nam Co (4718m), by which stands Mt Nyainqentanglha (7114m), the Holy Mountain of the whole northern tribes. Afternoon ride-on 320km to Tsurpu (built in 1185,4300m high), the premier monastery of White Sect or Karma Kagyu in Tibetan.Guesthouse. Day11:Trupu - Tsethang 2-hour ride to Songkha Ferry, 1.5-hour boating across Yarluzangbo and 0.5-hour ride to Samye(built in 8th century), the premier monastery of Red Sect or Nyingma in Tibtan.Afternoon ride to Tsetang Town(3551m) and check-in at Longma Hotel or Yulong Hotel or Post Hotel according to reservation. Tsetang is the cradle of Tibetan civilization.12km ride to Yumbulagang(built in 2nd century B.C), 1st Tibetan King¡¯s Castle Via Trandruk Monastery(built in 7th century, subject to Geluk now), in which Pearl Thangkha is kept. Day12: Lhasa- Airport or Railway Drop-off & exit.
