Qinghai-Tibetan platear is known as the world Roof ,the third Pole of the Globe, it is the original place of many big rivers in China. Qinghai-Tibetan railways is about 1142Km long, 960Km of which runs on the highland of more than 4,000m and 550km of it passes across the all year round frozen earth. Qinghai-Tibetan railway has 34 stops which are located at Nachitai, Tuotuo River, Mt. Tanggula pass, Amdo, Nagchu, Damsung, Yangparchen and Lhasa etc. 7 sightseeing platform are specially built for the passengers enjoyment where the trains will stop for 10 to 30 minutes. The train can drive 160Km/hour with the most luxurious carriages equipped with the advanced facilities such as oxygen-supplying, pressure-balancing system etc. It takes about 50hours getting to Lhasa from Chengdu, you can appreciate the beautiful scenry during the daytime driving hours.
Day 1: Chengdu-Lhasa
Depart from Chengdu by train(T222)and cross Qinling Mountain, the division between North China and South China. Overnight at sleeper.
Day 2: On the Train.
Train on across Yellow Earth Plateau. Overnight at sleeper.
Day 3: Arrival at Lhasa.
Train on across Qinghai-Tibet Plateau via Tanggula Mountain Pass(5072m) and reach Lhasa in the evening.Pick-up and check-in at hotel.
Day 4:Lhasa Sightseeing
Guided sightseeing of Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street.Overnight at hotel.
Day 5:Lhasa - Yamdrok Yumtso Lake-Shigatse
Some 380km ride by TOYOTA 4WD to Xigatze via Mt. Gangbala,Yamdrok Yumtso Lake and Gyantze. Visits to Pelko Chode and Tashilhunpo. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6:Shigatse - Lhatse - Dhingri (Xiegeer Town)
Some 320km ride to Xiegeer via Sakya Monastery Gyamtso La Mountain Pass(5200m). Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 7: (Dhingri)Xiegeer Town - Mt. Everest Nature Reserve (Rhongbuk monastery )
120km ride to Rongbuk Monastery(5200m) and trek or cartride to Base Camp of Mt Everest. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 8: Rongbuk Monastery - Dhingri -Shigatse.
Ride back to Shigatze and overnight at hotel.
Day9: Shigatse-Yangparchen-Lhasa
Day 10:Lhasa-Chengdu
Take the plane back to Chengdu, end tour.

1.Transportation: One-way train ticket hard sleeper, one-way airfare Lhasa-Chengdu together with the air tax and fuel tax, private Toyota Land Cruiser 4500 Or same kind Jeep(Van like Toyota Haice or tour bus may be used from Lhasa to Shigatse for joint group since there are more passengers from Lhsa to Shigatse.)

6.As we travel in Tibet area where the economy is much more backward than other places, the food alternative is limited,so we suggest you order food in local restaurants available yourself or take some solid food.Most of local restaurant can only offer the simple Sichuan and Tibetan dishes.
7.All the passengers can buy the ticket from Chengdu/chongqing directly to Lhasa but they have to get down the train at Xi"ning train station and then transfer to another train from Xi"ning to Lhasa.The officials and staff of the train station will lead the passengers to the train and all the passengers will have the same seat or sleeper number. )...... |
