Day1: Kashi-250km-Yecheng(1400m): Kashi, Jade Bonanza, is one of the richest oasis on the west edge of Tarim Basin. It has been prosperous for over 2,000 years.Yecheng, Hospitable Place, is a pearl of Pamirs. Flat asphalt road on an oasis with boundless poplar trees, nice knives at Yengisar and sweet guava at Yecheng are available. Bangong Tso: It is a charming, long and narrow Lake with an area of 604 square kilometers. With an altitude of 4,242 meters, it is salty in the west while sweet in the east. Birds, mainly hagdons and wild geese, take it home. It is a wonder that countless songbirds are above the red-willow-surrounding limpidity in which it is said there is apparition.Overnight at hotel Day5: Shiquanhe-350km-Tarchen (4654m) 255km ride to Xiangquan River Valley and famous physiognomy of earth forst is beheld: At sunset, a solitary village, called Tsaparang, melts into the golden sky and earth, which seems to imply the world has been quiet all the time since its birth, yet, about 1100 years ago, also in the golden afterglow, here is standing refulgent palaces and magnificent monasteries of powerful Guge Kingdom. Toling: As a reprint of Samye architecturewise, it means Flying Forever. It is said that Buddha Sakyamuni had 3 his statues made in his time. Now the 3 are all in Tibet. His 12-yeart-old image statue is now at Jokhang, 8-year-old at Ramche and 25-year-old at Toling. Kailash: It has been the symbolity of holiness since Tibetans named it Kangrinboqe ( King of Mountains), since Chinese named it Xumi(the center of Universe), since Bon Religion called it Mt Kisi( seat of Goddess), since Rishaba, the first of 24 Tirthankaras attained liberation and since Buddha Sakyamuni regarded it as Earthy Mandala. Mapam Yumco: Also called Manasarovara, it is the lake of compassion, tranquility and bliss. Indian pilgrims complete the memorable morning Bath and Puja here. It is considered as a base camp for the Holy Kailash Parikrama. Overnight at Guesthouse. Day 6-8:Trachen-659km-Saga (4500m) Rough road wriggles between Himalayas and Gangdis. Overnight at Guesthouse. Day9: Saga-433km-Tingri (4378m) It is quite an experience to drive on the bumpy road on the north side of Himalayas. Nice view of Mt Xixabangma (8012m) at Palku Tso. Nice view of Mt Everst(8848m), Lhotse(8516m) and Cho Oyu(8153) at Tingri.Overnight at Guesthouse Day10: Tingri-111km-Rongbuk (5200m) At Rongbuk Mt. Everst is beheld well. Called Qomolangma (3rd Goddess) in Tibetan while Sagarmatha (Heaven God) in Nepali, Mt Everst attracts a great many climbers and tourists. Overnight at Guesthouse. Day 11: Rongbuk-411km-Xigatze(3800m) Sakya (built in 1073): the premier monastery of Grey Sect, or Sakyapa in Tibet. As we approach to Sakya, we see houses with tricolour strips painted on the wall, which is the symbol of Sakyapa.There are two ways to explain the symbol. If our clients are religious, they will be told that that stands for Risum Gombu, the Trinity Of Buddhist Protectors.They are White Avolokitisvara, Protector of Speech Practice; Red Manjushri, Protector of Mind Practice and Black ( Blue in a lama's eyes) Vajrapani, the Protector of Body Practice.If the clients are normal tourists we will associate the symbol with the sun and moon patterns seen on the doors of Tibetan buildings, telling them that white means day while black means night and red implies energy functions on the change between day and night. Overnight at hotel Day 12: Xigatze-400km-Lhasa(3700m) Xigatze means Rich Soil in Tibet and it is the capital of Rear Tibet.Tashilhunpo Monastery is the Seat of Panchan Lama, in whioch there is a huge copper Buddha statue, whose palm can hold a jeep. Gyantse means Castle of Triumphy, a typical Tibetan town with Pelko Chode the main attraction, in which vivid wall paintings depict hell in Buddhist world. Yamzho Yumtso is one of three great holy lakes in Tibet. Overnight at hotel Day 13: Lhasa Visit Potala, the largest castle in the world used to be the religio-political center of Old Tibet, the winter palace of Dalai Lama and the cemetery stupas of deceased Dalai Lamas and now it is a great museum of art and teasures. Jokhang, the final destination of all sects, is where the city and Tibetan Buddhism began. Norbulinkha, Dalai Lama’s summer palace, gives you some ideas of Dalai Lama’s life and the history of Tibet. Day 14: Lhasa-170km to Tsethang Early morning ride to Songkha Ferry and 1.5-hour boating across Yarluzangbo and 0.5-hour ride to Samye (built in 8th century,), the premier monastery of Red Sect or Nyingma in Tibtan. Back across the river & 30km ride to Tsetang Town(3551m) and check-in at Longma Hotel or Yulong Hotel or Post Hotel according to reservation. Afternoon 12km ride to Yumbulagang(built in 2nd century B.C), 1st Tibetan King’s Castle Via Trandruk Monastery(built in 7th century, subject to Geluk now), in which Pearl Thangkha is kept. Tsetang is the cradle of Tibetan civilization and it is wise for a newcomer to become acclimatized at a comparatively lower altitude. Day 15: exit See-off at the airport or railway station
